Sun and Mud – Week 7 of Maratraining
This week at the corporate I battled paperwork. Luckily I survived the week with only a few paper cuts and a super sore arm from stapling a gazillion contracts. Thank god for running to keep me sane! The temperature was mild this week and dare I say it even got balmy on Friday night. I had a few training challenges this week but I pulled through. I think I was nervous about and almost dreading my 20km long run this week....
Spring in the air but not in my step – Week 6 of Maratraining
Sometimes you have those weeks where you feel tired and are lacking a bit of mojo. This was one of those weeks for me. Corporate life has had a few challenges this week but I managed to get on top of them (sort of) and this spilled into my running life. The kms I’m running are slowly creeping up and some niggling pains are starting to spring up. Despite the challenges, I kept my eye on the prize and that (plus a little...
Winter Wonderland – Week 5 of Maratraining
This week marks the start of month 2 of my marathon training. Month 1 flew by and if this week is anything to go by month 2 will go even faster. After the euphoria of hitting a PB at the Budget 5km and getting my training schedule for this month, I am now entered in another 3 Fun Runs this year. I’ve entered the Ross Half Marathon, the Burnie 10 and the Point to Pinnacle. They’ll all play a part in my training for...
Back to the beginning – Week 4 of maratraining
I don’t know where this week has gone! Work kept me extremely busy (payback for taking a couple of days off) and training just kind of happened. I think I’m getting into the groove of things and really enjoying stretching my legs on the longer runs. I had a my first “injury” this week (more about that later) and finished the week running the race that started it all – the Hobart Budget Fun Run....
On Tour – Week 3 of Maratraining
This week I took the training on the road. Being away for work or play is no excuse to stop training. I did have to make some adjustments to the schedule to fit it all in but I made it happen. I had a few false starts but in the end it was a great week of running and pushing the limits. Here are the highlights of my 3 city running tour. Monday – 20/07/15 False start. Early flight to Sydney for work meant that I...
G15 – Week 2 of Maratraining
This week has gone by insanely quick. I wish I could say the same about my running times but hell you’ve got to start somewhere, don’t you? Week 2 of training went well and culminated in the Glenorchy Fun Run this morning. I was feeling a bit better on the corporate front and the week wasn’t as emotionally taxing as last week. I didn’t have to work crazy hours and I even won a radio trivia competition on the...
