Conquering the Ross Half – Week 9 of Maratraining
Well folks I have to say that his has been a tough week for me. I seriously lacked mojo and was battling some sort of illness all week. Life at the corporate was particularly draining this week. I’m still looking after my resigned colleague’s portfolio and have been doing a few late nights and generally feeling exhausted. I pushed through and stuck to the program despite the chorus of evil voices in my head telling...
Sunny Sydney Runs – Week 8 of Maratraining
Late afternoon last Friday I got some shocking news. One of my corporate colleagues rang to say she was leaving the cheesemine for good to study full-time. Her last day was Monday. I was gobsmacked and didn’t see it coming. I’m in a very small team so a loss of such an amazing team-mate was off the richter terrible news. My boss rang and asked me to pack my bags and head to the head office in Sydney for the week to...
Sun and Mud – Week 7 of Maratraining

The temperature was mild this week and dare I say it even got balmy on Friday night. I had a few training challenges this week but I pulled through. I think I was nervous about and almost dreading my 20km long run this week....
Spring in the air but not in my step – Week 6 of Maratraining

Corporate life has had a few challenges this week but I managed to get on top of them (sort of) and this spilled into my running life. The kms I’m running are slowly creeping up and some niggling pains are starting to spring up. Despite the challenges, I kept my eye on the prize and that (plus a little...
Back to the beginning – Week 4 of maratraining
I don’t know where this week has gone! Work kept me extremely busy (payback for taking a couple of days off) and training just kind of happened. I think I’m getting into the groove of things and really enjoying stretching my legs on the longer runs. I had a my first “injury” this week (more about that later) and finished the week running the race that started it all – the Hobart Budget Fun Run....
