Burnie 10 – Week 15 of Maratraining
This week was a taper week. I finally saw sense and took it a bit easier on myself to attempt to finally get rid of this hip issue. This was really hard to do! I really wanted to not drop any kms on my training program but sadly it just had to be done. I only ran 27kms this week which is at least 20km down on my normal weekly distances. I don’t want to be injured going into the Cadbury Marathon and I need to ensure I keep...
Changing Habits – Week 14 of Maratraining
Apparently this week marks the half-way point in my training for the Cadbury Marathon. It’s fitting that this week I’ve made some changes to my habits that will hopefully set me up for a better second half of training. I’ve been feeling the hurt with my hip but that wasn’t the only thing that has been getting me down the past few weeks. I kept feeling drained and tired after my runs which naturally meant...
Twilight Running – Week 13 of Maratraining

As per usual, I persevered...
Biggest week yet – Week 12 of Maratraining
I’m going to try and keep it short and sweet this week. I had huge week and even bigger weekend which is why I didn’t quite get around to publishing my usual Sunday digest. This week of training was all about keeping focus and working through my hip injury. I popped ibuprofens like they were lollies, gave Mr Foam Roller a workout and had some therapeutic massage. I didn’t skip a km of training and I’m...
Pushing through the pain – Week 11 of Maratraining
This week went by in a hazy blur. My uncle was on my mind. It was hard not being able to be there to say our final goodbye. On the day of the funeral I took a day off from the corporate, bought some doughnuts and spent time with my mum and dad and remembered the good old days including how much of a sweet tooth my uncle was. It was also great to be home and not travelling for work. After a week of much needed rest, it was back to...
