Breaking through the wall – Beating the post Marathon blues
It has been a while since I’ve updated the blog. I really enjoyed writing in the lead up to my marathon debut at Cadbury. I was going to write about my Singapore/Thailand Holiday but never quite got around to it (I might still do it because I have so many stories I want to share). I don’t know quite what happened but I seemed to have hit a wall after achieving 42.2km in January. It all started when I got back from holidays...
Heartbreak and Recovery – Week 10 of Maratraining
This week was a bit surreal. I was back at the corporate big top in Sydney from Monday through Thursday. The TRR coaches gave us the week off to recover from the Ross Half. I was a bit at a loss but honestly I needed the rest this week. Work was pretty full on and I put in some long hours. I’d get to the office before 8AM most days and left pretty late most nights and continued to work from my hotel. Not really loving...
Conquering the Ross Half – Week 9 of Maratraining

I’m still looking after my resigned colleague’s portfolio and have been doing a few late nights and generally feeling exhausted. I pushed through and stuck to the program despite the chorus of evil voices in my head telling...
Sunny Sydney Runs – Week 8 of Maratraining
Late afternoon last Friday I got some shocking news. One of my corporate colleagues rang to say she was leaving the cheesemine for good to study full-time. Her last day was Monday. I was gobsmacked and didn’t see it coming. I’m in a very small team so a loss of such an amazing team-mate was off the richter terrible news. My boss rang and asked me to pack my bags and head to the head office in Sydney for the week to...
Sun and Mud – Week 7 of Maratraining
This week at the corporate I battled paperwork. Luckily I survived the week with only a few paper cuts and a super sore arm from stapling a gazillion contracts. Thank god for running to keep me sane! The temperature was mild this week and dare I say it even got balmy on Friday night. I had a few training challenges this week but I pulled through. I think I was nervous about and almost dreading my 20km long run this week....
