Breaking through the wall – Beating the post Marathon blues
It has been a while since I’ve updated the blog. I really enjoyed writing in the lead up to my marathon debut at Cadbury. I was going to write about my Singapore/Thailand Holiday but never quite got around to it (I might still do it because I have so many stories I want to share). I don’t know quite what happened but I seemed to have hit a wall after achieving 42.2km in January. It all started when I got back from holidays...
Cadbury Marathon Race Day – The end of my Marajourney
I’m writing this blog from seat 39B on a Jestar flight from Melbourne to Singapore. I had intended to write this last night to stick to my usual blogging routine but I had to pack, tidy the house and relax a bit after the big day. I’ve had time to reflect on race day whilst in transit. I’m pleased to report that I’ve pulled up OK. I feel a bit weary (mainly sore feet) but I can walk despite numerous people...
Race Day Eve Special Edition – week 27 of maratraining

Normally when I feel this way I’d go out for a run. I can’t today. I need to save my legs for tomorrow. Seeing as I can’t take my mind off of the run I decided to do a quick blog post to cover my...
Nearly there! – Week 26 of Maratraining
I can’t believe it! The final full week of training is over. My final long run is done. This time next week I will be a marathoner. This week was a lazy week of holidays. I’m “carb loading” which is just my fancy pants excuse for eating whatever I feel like. I got my yearly fix of deep fried goodness at the Taste of Tasmania mushroom stall and helped my dad drink half a bottle of wine….ooops! It is...
Surprising Myself – week 25 of Maratraining
This week marks the commencement of tapering for the Cadbury Marathon. I’m decreasing from 5 runs a week to 4 and also decreasing the kilometers run. I did end up running a few “extra” kms for the hell of it (well maybe because I just didn’t read my training schedule right and forgot to turn back when I was supposed to…ooops!) I also wrapped up my corporate life for the year. It was a great feeling...
